The .techsquad partnered with RISE Conference and attended their first ever event in Asia! As expected, Websummit put together a fantastic platform for us to exhibit and interact with founders of several startups.
Journalists were a curious lot ! They were excited not just about registering a .tech domain but were already making plans to curate their own articles as well as tech content from other sites on their very own website. Some even asked us why we hadn’t come out with the .tech extension 5 years ago! That’s how interested the attendees were in .tech!
RISE came at the perfect time as the .tech extension goes into general availability from 5th August 2015 . Aside from pre-registering their .tech domain, attendees were happy to have received the nifty .tech T-shirt from us. Located bang opposite the Media Village at RISE, our booth got a lot of interest from individuals and startups who could relate with the need for such an extension. We also had a special lucky draw at the end of the 2nd day at RISE and all those who visited us, wanted to win the cool Parrot Drone! @Codility finally won it and they sure were thrilled! They promptly thanked us on Twitter as well and we were too happy with all the attention indeed!
We even had the wonderful opportunity to hear the co-founder of OnePlus- Pete Lau, speak at RISE about the much awaited OnePlus 2, soon after its launch last week. His co-founder Carl Pei is incidentally, one of the Founding Pioneers to adopt a .tech domain.
As .tech finally launches today, we’re very excited to see the kind of buzz within the tech community. We will continue building awareness and hope every member of the global tech community adopts this new extension and gains from its amazing capabilities of categorizing and defining their websites the way they should be.
.tech is looking forward to interacting with many more startups and tech enthusiasts at TechCrunch SF as well as Websummit Dublin. Should any of you be around, do come up to us and say ‘Hi’! Keep the techie in you alive always!
